Taxi wars | WC taxis impounded for breaking ban

CAPE TOWN - Six minibus taxis have been impounded for operating on the closed routes between Khayelitsha, Mfuleni and Somerset West.

Cape Town's warring taxi associations are barred from transporting passengers on ten routes after the violence that led to the deaths of six people.

But CODETA is challenging the 30-day ban and has lodged an urgent court application.

Western Cape transport MEC Isaac Sileku says he's still open to meeting with warring taxi associations.
