CAPE TOWN - Wednesday was deadline day for two taxi operators involved in a violent dispute in the Western Cape.
The Western Cape Government has invoked section 91 of the National Land Transport Act which allows it to act when transport violence is placing lives at risk.
It has closed several routes including routes from Khayelitsha and Mfuleni to Somerset West.
The government says its justified by violence including clashes that killed six people in August, and the shooting of an off-duty police officer and taxi operator earlier this month.
The Western Cape Mobility MEC, Isaac Sileku discussed this with eNCA.
