JOHANNESBURG - A suspect was arrested after a truck carrying dagga worth over R4 million was intercepted at the Oshoek Port of Entry in Mpumalanga.
The incident took place on Monday at approximately 01:30 am on the arrival side from the Kingdom of Eswatini into South Africa.
Mpumalanga police spokesperson Mpho Nonyane-Mpe said at the time officials were on search duties.
He said officials discovered 49 bags containing suspected dagga, with a combined weight of approximately 630 kilograms.

The suspect was arrested and the truck and trailer were seized
According to Nonyane-Mpe, these bearded Kingdom of Eswatini registration number and reportedly belongs to a logistics company based in the Kingdom of Eswatini.
"Police investigations are continuing to establish the origin and intended destination of the consignment, as well as to determine whether other persons may be linked to the illegal drug trade," Nonyane-Mpe said.
The suspect has been detained at the Hartebeeskop SAPS.
