Tshwane Strike | Police probing 34 criminal cases

PRETORIA - Police are investigating at least 34 cases related to the municipal strike in Tshwane.
City manager Johann Mettler says cases range from public violence to intimidation and arson.

Meanwhile, Tshwane mayor, Celliers Brink is calling for assistance from crime intelligence to deal with the ongoing municipal strike in the city.

Workers affiliated to the South African Municipal Workers’ Union have been striking for over a month, demanding a 5.4 percent salary increase.

A waste collection truck was recently attacked and set alight. The city says it can't afford the increase, but Samwu insists that’s not the case.
