US health funding | Motsoaledi hits brick wall in seeking answers

NEW YORK - Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi has told eNCA, he's still seeking assurances from the US government over future financial support for health programmes.

But he is hitting a brick wall, saying officials are not providing clear answers.

After USAID was cut, the Minister says he now expects funding to run out, from another US department, the Centers for Disease Control.

This will happen at the end of September, the close of the US government’s fiscal year, and says it could result in job losses.
