CAPE TOWN - The cost-of-living crisis has left almost 10-million consumers behind on debt payments.
Many are facing mounting pressure from aggressive, and often illegal, debt collectors.

Mi-Law Legal Sivuyile Mazitshe says consumers have the right to dispute some of the harassment credit and obligation this through the National Credit Act.
At the same time he says there are processes in place that consumers can turn to like arranging for payment plans instead of shying away from settling debt.
