CAPE TOWN - President Cyril Ramaphosa answered questions in the National Assembly.
The session kicked off with a question about the VBS Mutual Bank.
Ramaphosa said shortly after he became President, he received briefings by government departments -- including a Treasury and Reserve Bank briefing -- on VBS on the Terry Motau report before its release.
Thre president said action should be taken against the officials, and in some instances, including political leaders who are responsible for depositing municipal funds into VBS, even though it was illegal.
