MTHATHA - The state is arguing that a Walter Sisulu University residence manager should not be granted bail as it is not in the best interests of justice.
Manelisi Mampane is accused of killing student Sisonke Mbolekwa.
Two other students were wounded in the shooting at the university's Mthatha campus last month.

But the defence says the state is clutching at straws and doesn't have any solid evidence to support denying bail to the 54-year-old.
While the shooting took place just over a month ago, families of the victims seem to be running out of patience.
Magistrate Sibusiso Xolo is expected to deliver his judgment on 3 June.
