Olorato Mongale murder suspect victim of identity theft, cleared of wrongdoing

JOHANNESBURG - The police have cleared Fezile Ngubane of any wrongdoing.

Ngubane, who works at a carwash, is a victim of identity theft.

He was believed to be one of the three suspects sought for the murder of 30-year-old Olorato Mongale.

Her body was found dumped on the street in Lombardy West in Johannesburg on Monday.

Ngubeni accompanied his father to the police station to clear his name.

Philangekosi Makhanya had allegedly used Ngubeni's ID to RICA multiple sim cards, which he used to contact women.

Police fatally wounded Makhanya on Friday in an Amanzimtoti apartment after a shootout.

Makhanya and Bongani Mthimkhulu were among the three suspects, along with Ngubane, who were sought by police.

Mthimkhulu is still at large, according to police, it is believed he is on his way to Zimbabwe.
