QONCE, EASTERN CAPE - The Church has taken a stance against Nigerian televangelist, Timothy Omotoso.
The controversial religious leader made another appearance in court for immigration related matters on Monday.
Omotoso is currently being kept at the Mdantsane police station after he was arrested on Saturday morning. Omotoso had been leading a "New Dawn" crusade.
This follows a decision by the Department of Home Affairs to reject his latest appeal against an earlier ruling that declared him a prohibited person.
His latest arrest comes just weeks after he was acquitted of 32 charges, including rape, human trafficking, and racketeering, in April.
The inquiry into Omotoso's eligibility to remain in South Africa is set to continue on Tuesday.
Reverend Zukile Makula, Chairperson of the South African Council of Churches in the Eastern Cape, had a discussion with eNCA on this topic.
