JOHANNESBURG - On Monday marked World Whistleblowers Day, in tribute to the brave men and women who risk it all to expose corruption and other forms of misconduct.

South Africa has its fair share of whistleblower protection failures. 

Jimmy Mohlala, Moss Phakoe and Babita Deokaran have paid with their lives despite persistent calls to provide those who expose wrongdoing, with adequate protection.
