He testified on the allegations he made in July, about corruption and interference in the police force, as well as the criminal justice system.
Crime expert Kholofelo Rakubu discussed the day's proceedings with eNCA.
Koogan Pillay from Accountability Now spoke about the day's proceedings saying, "one must question where we are going wrong."
"My own perspective [is] having made submissions to the Zondo commission is that I think he took the high road, and tried to play it safe and in that way he got the response from the president. But if you look at other whistleblowers like Babita Deokran and more recently investigative journalists that have been assassinated because of greed, lack of integrity and lack of accountability in the systems that are supposed to be ensuring good governance."
Pillay said he hopes for conclusive action to stem the rise in politically motivated killings.
