JOZI PROPERTY EVALUATIONS

Every four to five years, Joburg residents wait anxiously for the General Valuation Roll which reassesses the value of properties. The new values then determine the rates you pay every month. 

Following the release of the latest roll, #TheDeviShow received concerned emails from a few residents who received shock valuations with some properties more than doubling in worth, leaving residents with unaffordable rates bills.

We take a look at how these values are calculated and challenge the City on some of their calculations.
