Chiefs announce appointment of new coach

JOHANNESBURG - Kaizer Chiefs has finally appointed a new coach.

The Soweto giants have hired Fernando da Cruz as their new head coach.

He succeeds co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef, who left the club at the end of the season.

The French-born coach has signed a two-year contract with a one-year option, effective 1 July 2026.

He worked briefly with Chiefs during pre-season two years ago before joining the Moroccan Football Federation, where he served as Technical Director until the end of June.

Amakhosi said Da Cruz will officially take charge of the club at the beginning of July.
