JOHANNESBURG - Pitso Mosimane is widely expected to be unveiled as the new Bafana Bafana head coach following the departure of Belgium’s Hugo Broos.
Mosimane is set for a second permanent stint in charge of the national team, having previously led Bafana from 2010 to 2012. He also served as caretaker coach in 2007.
His first permanent spell ended after South Africa failed to qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. The three-time CAF Champions League-winning coach is now poised for a return to the national setup.

The South African Football Association (SAFA) is expected to make an announcement at 11am, with growing expectations that Mosimane will be confirmed as Broos’ successor.
The 62-year-old’s immediate task will be to prepare Bafana for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, which is due to get underway in less than a month.
Bafana are scheduled to face Guinea and Eritrea in back-to-back AFCON qualifiers next month as they begin their campaign for a place at the continental tournament.
