JOHANNESBURG - As ANC members and supporters celebrated its 112th anniversary, some people on the streets of Mbombela felt they had nothing to celebrate.

Even with their city taken over by visitors from around the country, the poor and hungry stood at intersections of major streets, begging for food, money and jobs.
