CAPE TOWN - Three people were washed away in floodwaters in the Theewaterskloof municipality. Municipal Manager, Wilfred Solomon-Johannes says disaster relief officials housed over 100 people in town halls overnight.
However, teams have been working to prepare their homes for their return on Tuesday.
Despite this, the situation in Theewaterskloof remains dire, with all roads closed to traffic.
The dam in the region is overflowing at a remarkable 114%. Solomons-Johannes says that the disaster response team remains on high alert.
He says they started preparing as soon as they received the weather forecast.
