PROTEA, GP - Baby Nikita's parents have abandoned their bail bid, with the NPA confirming the mother now faces a murder charge.
The case has been postponed to the 9th of October for further investigation.
The 4-year-old died last week after being raped and beaten, allegedly by her father. The girl and her little brother were found by police in a shack after neighbours reported disturbing noises and cries coming from the shack. The police had to use force and open the structure.

The girl had visible head injuries, bruises and a swollen eye. She was rushed to the hospital, and the father was arrested after failing to explain what had happened.
This past Sunday, the Eldorado Park community held a memorial service for the little girl.
The community is calling for justice and has visibly shown support to the toddler's family. Her death has sparked outrage and conversations around domestic violence, as most people tend to turn a blind eye when it happens in their families and neighbourhoods.
