Blackouts suspended in flood affected areas

JOHANNESBURG - Eskom has suspended blackouts in areas affected by flooding in the Western and Eastern Cape in order to repair infrastructure safely.

The rest of South Africa will still have to battle through Stage 3 blackouts until further notice.

Eskom says this is the result of multiple failing generating units.

The utility also has not been able to replenish the pumped storage dam levels sufficiently for the week.
