DA vows to root out corruption in govt, opens criminal complaint against Higher Education Minister

JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance has vowed it will pull out all the stops in its efforts to help root out corruption in government.

The party’s Member serving on the Higher Education and Training Portfolio Committee, Karabo Khakhau, has laid a criminal complaint against Minister Nobuhle Nkabane, accusing her of lying to Parliament.

The DA says Nkabane falsely claimed that an “independent” panel made SETA Board appointments.

The party says it will not support the higher education budget vote, and promises to appose the budgets of other departments led by corruption accused ministers.
