EAST LONDON - An East London woman appeared in court for faking her abduction.
She faces charges of perjury and defeating the ends of justice and could face up to five years in prison if found guilty.
The Hawks expect to make more arrests in a fake kidnapping case.
The province has seen a rising number of kidnapping cases where ransom is often demanded to the victims' release.
In February, 9-year-old Emaan Fatima Ghumman was grabbed outside of her school.
She was released nine days later after a ransom was reportedly paid for her release.

Four suspects have been arrested in connection with Ghumman's kidnapping and are set to appear in court for their bail applications.
