Food poisoning | Concerns over food safety in Gauteng

JOHANNESBURG - There are concerns over a surge in food poisoning cases in Gauteng.

Around 41 children were treated at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital on Monday.

It's believed they ate rat poison after mistaking it for sweets at a preschool.

Christina Moumakwe from Gauteng Health said the province has recorded 863 cases from October to date, including 11 people who died due to food poisoning.
