Kirsten Kluyts murder-accused continues bail bid

JOHANNESBURG - The 21-year-old accused in the murder and rape of Kirsten Kluyts will continue his bail bid on Monday.

Kluyts’ naked body was found on an embankment in George Lea Park at the end of October.

She was participating in the MyRun Race when she was killed.

The accused faces a charge of premeditated murder and rape.

He maintains his innocence, saying he merely stumbled upon her body.

He says he did not rape or murder the teacher.

He told the court he took her clothes as he panicked as his fingerprints were all over them.
