Madlanga Commission and Ad Hoc Committee fight over Mkhwanazi

DURBAN - There seems to be a power struggle playing out over who gets Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi on the stand first.

The KZN police commissioner is currently consulting with evidence leaders from the Madlanga Commission, ahead of its anticipated start in less than a fortnight.

At the same time, Parliament's Ad Hoc Committee set up to investigate his allegations is turning up the pressure.

The committee expects to call seven witnesses – who will most likely be required at the commission, too – to take the stand from the 22nd of September. It’s deadline is the 31st of October.
