Madlanga Commission testimony triggers Treasury probe

JOHANNESBURG - National Treasury has launched an investigation into allegations of improper conduct involving a former employee.

This follows evidence at the Madlanga Commission that the worker influenced the awarding of contracts.

Treasury said its investigation will assess the accuracy of the claims.

It will also identify measures to strengthen procurement processes.

The finance entity said findings will be made public in the interest of trust and good governance.
