Meyiwa trial | Defence concentrates on discrepancies in witness testimony

PRETORIA - Inconsistencies continue to emerge as witnesses testify in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial.

Senzo Meyiwa's childhood friend, Mthokozisi Thwala, stood by his story when asked about aspects of his version of events.

"I cannot say that which is said by Zandi, i don't know, but I'm saying is that we never reached the venue of the party," he said.

"As I said, we drove into some centre or a mall, we went to Wimpy, we bought food, and we drove to Soweto. We never reached the venue."

One of the lawyers raised apparent discrepancies in Thwala's version of events, focusing on an interaction he had had with police officer Joyce Buthelezi.
