Police expand Joshlin's search worldwide after guilty verdict

SALDANHA BAY - The Western Cape police commissioner, Thembisile Patekile says the Joshlin Smith case is not yet closed. 

He spoke to senior reporter Ayesha Ismail shortly after the verdict was handed down. Joshlin's mother and her two co-accused have been on trial for the girl's disappearance.

A judge found them guilty of kidnapping and trafficking her.

Judge Nathan Erasmus says the three accused kidnapped and trafficked the little girl for purposes of exploitation.

The community of Saldanha Bay have welcomed the judgment saying it was justice being served. 

The six-year-old went missing in Saldanha Bay in February last year and has not been found.
