RAF finances to be investigated

CAPE TOWN - The Road Accident Fund’s finances will soon come under intense scrutiny as Parliament’s Standing Committee on Public Accounts (Scopa) has adopted the terms of reference for an inquiry into alleged financial impropriety and maladministration at the fund.

The inquiry aims to hold those responsible accountable, with public hearings expected to begin in mid-September.

Scopa chairperson Songezo Zibi says the transparency of parliamentary proceedings is crucial, as it allows citizens to engage in political action and hold institutions to account.
