JOHANNESBURG - The country's new prosecutions boss is an outstanding legal mind and more than qualified for the role.
This is President Cyril Ramaphosa's endorsement of Advocate Andy Mothibi, following his appointment.
The SIU head will replace the retiring NDPP Shamila Batohi, whose term ends this month.
Meanwhile, Ramaphosa has praised outgoing NPA head Shamila Batohi for her work in transforming the institution.

Ramaphosa says Batohi took office at a challenging time, in the aftermath of state capture and during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He says criticism of her efforts is unfair.
Meanwhile, DA MP Glynnis Breytenbach described the process to appoint Mothibi as a complete mess.
She criticised the panel, saying they were inefficient and unskilled for the job.
None of the shortlisted candidates made the cut.
