JOHANNESBURG - Police Minister Senzo Mchunu has handed over his electronic devices to the South African Police Service (SAPS).
The move follows claims by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, that Mchunu who is on special leave has been engaging in corrupt activities.
Mkhwanazi alleged that the minister has relations with alleged political fixer Brown Mogotsi and suspected underworld kingpin Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.

Mchunu is also under fire for allegedly instructing the disbandment of the Political Killings Task Team, a specialised unit established to investigate politically motivated murders in KZN.
Mkhwanazi insisted during his testimony before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry that the Minister acted without a proper briefing and that he had misjudged the task team’s value.
He hinted that outside influence may have shaped Mchunu's decision.
