EAST LONDON - Seven people have died in the Eastern Cape following heavy rains and violent winds.
It has been confirmed that six bodies were found in Decoligny Village in Mthatha, and one body was recovered at Tsolo near Bedlana River.
About 300,000 residents are also without electricity, as the province has been battered by strong winds, heavy rainfall, and significant snowfall over the past 24 hours.
The unfavourable weather has led to severe flooding and large-scale evacuations.

On Tuesday, a minibus crash killed five people on the N2, just outside East London.
The driver and a female passenger survived with serious injuries.
It is believed that the driver was trying to dodge a fallen tree branch when the accident happened.
