JOHANNESBURG - Alleged crime kingpin Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala is back at the Alexandra Magistrate's Court as he fights for his freedom.
The tenderpreneur will make a solo appearance for a formal bail application, while his co-accused will only join him next month.
Matlala, his wife, and two alleged hitmen are accused of ordering a hit on his ex-girlfriend, Tebogo Thobejane, in 2023.
They face charges of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and money laundering.
Matlala has also been implicated in the alleged high-level corruption in the SAPS, exposed by KZN provincial Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
