Mkhwanazi lifted the lid, on an alleged misuse of secret police funds and deep-rooted corruption within the SAPS.

He told Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee that crime intelligence funds were used to build a perimeter wall at the home of former Police Minister, Nathi Mthethwa, but without his knowledge or request.

Mkhwanazi said the incident is just one example of the serious abuse of public funds in the crime intelligence division, calling for urgent intervention.
