WATCH | SANDU wants transparent inquiry into Kommetjie submarine tragedy

JOHANNESBURG - The South African National Defence Union wants an open and transparent inquiry into the submarine tragic incident.

Three Navy officers died and 4 others were injured when they were swept off by high waves in Kommetjie.

The incident has led to the cancellation of the SA Navy Festival scheduled for this weekend.

The SA Navy Festival, expected to take place this weekend, has now been cancelled.

The submarine had been on its way to Table Bay Harbour to take part in the festival.

The Navy will establish an inquiry into the incident.
