JOHANNESBURG - Thabo Bester could face more charges if the items and cash he claims were stolen from him are found to be ill-gotten gains.

When Bester made an appearance in court this week, his lawyer said he's demanding the return of valuables estimated to be worth R29m.

The lawyer has told the court that Bester is being mistreated in custody.
