JOHANNESBURG – One person died and four others were seriously injured after a building collapsed at Springfield Park in Durban this week.

The cause of the collapse is still under investigation.
Construction sector lawyer Thabo Masombuka says the incident highlights the urgent need for increased oversight and investment in infrastructure.
“We need to see more workers on sites and a booming infrastructure sector, because infrastructure is the backbone of every economic development,” said Masombuka.
