JOHANNESBURG - Premier Oscar Mabuyane has successfully stopped the SIU investigation, into his alleged fake degree from the University of Fort Hare.
The Eastern Cape Premier was accused of being registered for a Masters without completing his Honours.
He emphatically asserted he obtained his qualification through legitimate means.
Mabuyane took the matter to the High Court in Bhisho and the judge ruled in his favor, calling the probe unconstitutional and an abuse of power.
The ruling effectively blocks the Special Investigating Unit from pursuing the case, raising questions about accountability and political oversight in the province.
