Gender activist says Pistorius' parole will open painful wounds for victims

JOHANNESBURG - Just a month away from Reeva Steenkamp's death anniversary, her murderer and boyfriend Oscar Pistorius will be released on parole tomorrow.

Pistorius, a former athlete will walk out of his prison cell after serving eight years of his 13 year and five months long sentence.

Correctional Services Department says he will be monitored until the expiration of his sentence in 2029.

Gender activist, Anele Mda says the justice system clearly failed Steenkamp's family and other victims of gender based violence.
