JOHANNESBURG - Despite efforts by the authorities, gender based violence crimes just seem to be getting worse in South Africa.
Bonolo Mahlatsi, a Sociology master’s graduate at the University of the Free State, has written a reflection titled "The Normalisation of Femicide in South Africa."
Her words are more than a commentary; they are a call to action, rooted in grief, outrage, and a determination to confront what many women face daily: the fear of simply existing.
Mahlatsi discussed the situation and what needs to change with eNCA.
