JOHANNESBURG - The Human Rights Commission is slamming Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi's eviction plans.
It follows his promise to demolish illegal informal settlements in the dead of night.
He is also vowing to reclaim hijacked buildings.
But, the commission says this constitutes a grave violation of the Constitution.
It's condemned unlawful evictions and is calling for compliance and protection of the vulnerable.

In a statement on Sunday, the commission said: "Such conduct is inhuman, disregarding and dangerous."
The commission further noted how this would expose families to criminality, trauma and displacement.
The same sentiments were echoed by commissioner Nomahlubi Khwinana, who spoke to eNCA on Monday.
