SAPS: Focus on political meddling claims

CAPE TOWN - A parliamentary process aimed at tackling corruption and addressing claims of political interference against Police Minister Senzo Mchunu is set to get under way in the coming weeks.

An ad hoc committee has been given exactly 90 days to complete a report with recommendations on the allegations.

Meanwhile, a separate Commission of Inquiry, established by President Cyril Ramaphosa to probe the same matter, is expected to outline its plans on Monday.
