IEC Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Mosotho Moepya says the assigned seats in the provisional results may change as a result of the recount.
ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula said on Saturday that it had lodged disputes with the IEC and was able to win back wards from their disputes. Other parties, including the MK Party have also lodged disputes with the Commission that are being investigated.
Moepya says they have, to date, received 197 objections. Of these, 54 were dismissed. He explains that they were found without merit in terms of Section 65.
Of the disputes, eight were withdrawn and two were found to have an impact to the outcome of the results that were dealt with.

According to Moepya, the objectors have been notified of the Commission's various outcomes.
"The process of recapturing will be undertaken as soon as possible," says Moepya. The ward that was recounted in Tshwane was ward 57 at the Village Montessori School voting station. Also in Tshwane was ward 102 at the PAT Projects voting station.
In Mangaung, ward 19 at the Ehrlich Park Fire Station. In Thaba Chweu it was at ward 4 at the Shalom Church Centre voting station. Finally in Breede Valley, ward 12 at the Christian Light voting station.

"The Commission will spare no effort to finalise the objections before it announces the election results," says Moepya.
