The chilling details have emerged in the Mdantsane magistrate's court, where the State is opposing bail for two men accused of masterminding the killing.

The court heard that the murder was allegedly carefully planned, with the shooters recruited through an alleged middleman.

Police say they have recovered firearms and arrested two alleged hitmen, but are still searching for the person accused of driving the getaway vehicle.

The State is also describing alleged mastermind Uzozole Goqwana as dangerous and well-connected, arguing that he could interfere with witnesses if released on bail.

Goqwana and Sinebongo Qase face eight charges, including murder, premeditated murder, attempted murder and the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
