CAPE TOWN - KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has retracted allegations against former minister Bheki Cele.
Mkhwanazi previously accused Cele of providing bank details to Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala.
“This allegation is withdrawn,” said evidence leader, Advocate Norman Arendse.
“The team that was working on the analysis got the bank account number wrong and that's it, not a reference to you (Cele). So the allegation is withdrawn with apologies from Lieutenant-General Mkhwanazi for any inconvenience or hurt caused.”

Meanwhile, Cele acknowledged knowing Matlala but said that he has no business relationship with him.
Cele is appearing before Parliament's ad hoc committee investigating Mkhwanazi's corruption allegations.
