SA Navy Tragedy | Facilities to be named after fallen submariners

 

CAPE TOWN - SA Navy submariners who died during an exercise in Kommetjie have been hailed as heroes.

 

A memorial service was held for Lieutenant-Commander Gillian Hector, Master Warrant Officer William Mathipa and Warrant Officer Lucas Mojela.

They died while transferring from a SA Air Force Maritime Lynx Helicopter.

 

Three facilities at the Simon’s Town naval base will be named after them.
