DA councillor in court for alleged family murder

BERGVILLE - A DA councillor has been arrested in connection with an arson attack.

The blaze claimed the lives his wife and three children at their home in Bergville in KwaZulu-Natal.

The suspect is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

DA leader in the province Francois Rodgers was one of the first on the scene back in October.

"The police have to fulfill their responsibility. As the story unfolds, it will give us as the DA a clearer picture if he had any responsibility," Rodgers said.
