EFF denies blocking Feroz Khan's Parly's ad hoc appearance

JOHANNESBURG - The EFF denies it was the reason Feroz Khan did not appear before Parliament's SAPS ad hoc committee.

MK Party MP Vusi Shongwe told the Madlanga Commission that EFF leader Julius Malema blocked the appearance of the suspended Deputy Crime Intelligence boss.

However, EFF MP Leigh-Ann Mathys questioned how one member of a party could influence an entire committee.

"It can't be that we go and we say, one person influenced a decision of 10 members of this committee. It's bringing the committee into disrepute. Let's take a collective ownership. There are many things that even as the EFF, we lobbied for, and we didn't get it," she said.

Parliament's SAPS ad hoc committee met on Wednesday to deliberate on its draft preliminary report.
