EFF inches closer to no-confidence vote against Didiza

JOHANNESBURG - The EFF's attempt to remove National Assembly Speaker Thoko Didiza has taken a significant step forward.

Deputy Speaker Annelie Lotriet has confirmed that the EFF's motion of no confidence in Didiza is substantively in order.

However, she said several procedural amendments must still be made before it can be placed on the Order Paper.

Lotriet has also raised concerns about some of the allegations contained in the motion.

She said they may need to be substantiated or removed in line with the National Assembly's rules.
