KEMPTON PARK - The discovery of Elizabeth Moselakgomo’s body and those of seven other victims shows that women in South Africa still face a dangerous daily struggle for basic safety.
Moselakgomo didn’t make it home from a leisurely run.
Her eight-year-old daughter has been left with the heart-breaking question: "Where is my mom?".
Moselakgomo is one of the eight women who have been found dead in Ekurhuleni in the last two months.

As some raise concerns about the state of service delivery along Moselakgomo’s running route, the City of Ekurhuleni has defended their commitment to providing safe public spaces.
That reassurance may be small comfort for the runner’s eight-year-old daughter.
The family is preparing to lay the 38-year-old to rest in Phake, Mpumalanga, on Sunday.
