eMalahleni mayor refutes disrespecting community

MPUMALANGA - eMalahleni mayor Conny Nkalitshana has refuted accusations that she said people of eMalahleni don’t need electricity because they don’t have fridges.

Nkalitshana says the words were uttered by a woman who had lost her nephew the day before.

She says the attack on her was a big misunderstanding.

Residents have been blocking traffic on the N4 for the past three days.

They are angry over the inconsistent power supply and outages.
